The Major Transits of your 20’s::

Everyone talks about your Saturn Return, but there are a multitude of other reasons why your 20’s feel like one of the harder periods of your life. And no, your Saturn Return is not necessarily starting early… these transits can be just as life changing if not arguably more.

I often hear a lot of my 20-somethings share in Circles about how they feel lost, they feel like there’s something they need to uncover or heal, but they don’t know what it is yet, that they know they have a purpose but have no understanding of what direction to go in yet, and many other expressions of what your mid-late 20s have in store for most people.

25 is usually the turning point, your prefrontal cortex develops and then you’re like ok… now what? What have I been doing… but more importantly where am I going? I don’t know what’s truly important to me, or if I do, I don’t know how to put it into action.

It’s completely normal and part of the evolutionary process. I always want to share with mid-late 20s, that post Saturn Return, things will be made more clear to you and will begin to feel a lot easier.

Your Saturn Return is your cosmic coming of age, and on the other side, a lot more seems to just make sense.

I had a Circle lady ask if your Saturn Return is actually when your prefrontal cortex develops, and I’d honestly believe it. It makes a little too much sense to me.

I share this post in hopes of validating your feelings and to reassure you that it does get clearer and easier on the other side of your Saturn Return.

Does that bring consolation to you now?

Maybe not, but this time of your life has so much purpose even if it feels pressured and intense going through it.

There are also many beautiful transits that occur during your 20s, but this post is to help validate those harder feelings that may be coming up as you grow and evolve throughout your 20s.

EARLY 20’s

~AGE 21:: Saturn Square Saturn:

Saturn isn’t just your Saturn Return at age 28-30ish… it starts around 21 with Saturn squaring Saturn. For those who graduate college around this time, Saturn is at play behind the scenes as you end the cycle of always knowing what your next step is, because its always been mapped out for you ie. middle school > high school > college/trade school (if you attended)… to not knowing what’s next. This is a sobering time that requires hard work, self-discipline and planning. The more you apply yourself during this transit and learn from the lessons it brings, the easier your Saturn Return will be.

~AGE 21-22:: Uranus Square Uranus:

Reorienting yourself to all the change around you can be difficult. This transit is one of your cosmic coming of ages, where you are taking your place in society as an adult and begin to find your own beliefs and values, often by challenging everything you’ve been taught in adolescence. This transit is often one associated with a “quarter life crisis.” Uranus is always categorized by rebellion and breaking free of rules and tradition. This transit helps you find your truth and direction in life, often without as much influence of what we were told we “should” be or do.

MID 20’s

~AGE 25-28:: Pluto Sextile Pluto:

Major growth is the theme of this transit. If you haven’t begun a healing journey, this transit often sparks interest in it, leading you deeper into understanding your psychological and subconscious workings. Change during this transit feels more stable and easier to process, but you are beginning to see things through new eyes and develop a deeper, more profound perspective. This transit sometimes brings with it questioning everything up until this point: structures, beliefs, and conditioning. This is often the beginning of questioning the path you’ve taken and if you want to continue on it. If you decide to make a change, it usually doesn’t fully develop until post Saturn Return.

LATE 20’s

~AGE 27:: Progressed Moon Return::

Another transit that points to taking stock of your life, yourself, where you’ve been, where/who you are, and where you’re going. “The progressed moon represents the cycle of our emotional evolution.” And, it tends to line up pretty closely with our Saturn Return. If you don’t like the answers that come from you taking stock of your life, you may feel restless, lost, or unhappy. This is a time of coming back home to yourself, self-care, reparenting, and aligning with what makes you feel alive, at home, or at peace… to then take action to aligning your life with those things.

~AGE 27:: Nodal Opposition::

Your nodal opposition is when the transiting North Node conjuncts your natal South Node, and vice versa. It’s usually a realignment with your soul’s purpose/authenticity and letting go of the past. Fated events may happen, closing doors to allow new ones to open, but they don’t always feel welcomed at the time. Oppositions are usually a time of tension, so you may not recognize how the events are fated until reflecting on them years later. I often see people’s lives “starting over” during this time period. A relationship or career (one thought was forever) may come to an end, but ultimately leading to growth and change.

~AGE 26-28:: Neptune Sextile Neptune::

Feeling lost, disillusioned, confused, or uncertain are characteristics of Neptune transits. If you look at your natal chart pre or during your Saturn Return, you will most likely notice quite a few Neptune transits happening. The main one we all experience is Neptune Sextile Neptune. This transit tends to bring your life into perspective, helping us let go of the past an often by bringing us in touch with our dreams or what truly matters to us. Combined with your Saturn Return there is an urge to align yourself with your new understanding. Neptune transits also often signal spiritual awakenings.

~AGE 27-30:: Saturn Conjunct Saturn (Saturn Return)::

The famous Saturn Return, your cosmic coming of age. A time of great change, maturity, growth, and impact. During this transit, relationships may come to an end, especially if they are not in alignment with your authenticity. You may change your career or living arrangements. Anything that you have been ignoring or sweeping under the rug will come up for review during this time. You will be examining every part of your life and aligning yourself with who you truly are at a soul level. This is a time of ending and beginnings, and it may feel isolating and heavy. It is also a reflection of your hard work and dedication since your Saturn sq. Saturn at 21. Whatever in your life that is false/inauthentic will fall away or become unbearable. There is so much change happening during this period it’s best to carve out time for yourself and offer compassion as it may be overwhelming and disorienting. On the other side of your Saturn Return, you really begin to feel like a true adult, and there is a lot more peace, ease, and understanding.

It’s also important to take note of what house your Saturn Return is happening in, as the themes of that house will be especially important during this transit.
