The Dawn of a New Era

On November 19, 2024, Pluto makes its final move into Aquarius, where it will stay for the next 18.5 years. With this shift comes a transformative journey that will shape our collective future. Pluto’s last transit through Aquarius sparked revolutions and the rise of radical new ideas; its return promises to do the same, but now with technology, science, and social structures at the heart of its evolutionary forces.

Pluto in Aquarius is  a call to fundamentally rethink how we live, connect, and share power as a society. As Pluto leaves Capricorn for the final time in our lifetimes, where we’ve witnessed the unraveling of traditional hierarchies and economic systems, it’s asks us to lean into what’s next…

The Collective Awakens

Aquarius is a sign that’s deeply concerned with the Collective, with humanity as a whole. As Pluto transitions into this air sign, the focus shifts from the individual pursuit of power to how that power is shared (or hoarded) and how it is redistributed to the Collective. The inequalities we’ve seen so starkly during Pluto’s time in Capricorn are no longer ignorable. The focus shifts from the 1% to the 99%, and with it, the potential for a radical redistribution of resources, power, and influence.

This shift won’t be comfortable and often with Pluto, we see the dismantling of what isn’t working first before we see beneficial change.

Aquarius is known for its rebellious, eccentric energy, and Pluto thrives on disruption. This transit will ask us to take a good look at what’s no longer working and be honest with ourselves—from outdated political systems to the unchecked greed that continues to drive global inequality.  Pluto in Aquarius asks us: How do we build a world that works for all of us?

Technology and the Power of Connection

The last time Pluto moved through Aquarius in the late 1700s, the world witnessed revolutions—revolutions in America, France, and the early sparks of the Industrial Revolution. Without trying to fear monger, astrology recognizes patterns, and history often repeats itself.

We’ll most likely see the revolutions in the sphere of technology. We’ve already seen so many advancements taken place with AI. The question is how this technology benefits or hurts our society. They  have the potential empower humanity, the question is… will they?

Aquarius, the sign of innovation and the future, will push us to confront ethical questions around these developments. Will technology serve as a tool for liberation, or will it be used to continue to keep us separate from one another?

This transit is likely to spotlight how we use technology to connect—whether through social media or decentralized networks—and how those connections are shaped by power dynamics.

We may see the rise and fall of major tech platforms and how we use social media. We will most likely see the fall of the “influencer,” as it has already begun (alongside the fall of the 1%) as Pluto makes its way through the 29th degree of Capricorn.

We will begin to see people use social media how it was originally intended again (to connect and build community)… or stop using it altogether.

The Shadow Side of Progress

Aquarius is a visionary, but its shadow can be emotionally detached and cold, prioritizing progress at any cost. Pluto will expose this, pushing us to confront the darker side of advancement.

But Aquarius is also about humanitarian ideals. It asks us to hold both progress and people at the center of our vision. This means making hard decisions about how to regulate technologies that could either save or destroy us. It means asking ourselves whether we want a future where the few control the many—or one where we all have a seat at the table.

Building the Future Together

Seasons of collective upheaval are rarely comfortable, but Pluto in Aquarius reminds us that we don’t face these challenges alone. Aquarius is about community, and this transit call us to gather with others, to organize, and to co-create new systems that are fairer and more sustainable.

With Pluto in Aquarius, we sit in a circle symbolizing equality, no hierarchy, no end and no beginning, unified together as one.

During Pluto’s time in Aquarius, we’ll be asked to reckon with the old and embrace the new. This is a time to question not just the institutions that govern us, but the very way we relate to each other and to the planet. The old power structures are crumbling. The future belongs to the many, not the few.

Personal Transformation in a Collective Era

Pluto’s influence isn’t just societal; it’s deeply personal. As this powerful planet moves through Aquarius, we’ll each be asked to revolutionize certain aspects of our lives. For some, this will be about how we relate to technology and the digital world. For others, it will be about stepping into community and learning to lead from a place of co-creation with others.

This transit invites introspection, as Pluto always does. It asks us to look at the parts of ourselves we’ve kept hidden—the fears, the insecurities, the outdated ways of thinking—and to transform them.

A New Paradigm for Humanity

In the emerging Aquarian paradigm, we’re being asked to realize that humanity is just one part of a much larger ecosystem. As we grapple with climate change, political unrest, and technological shifts, it’s clear that we are no longer the center of the story. Nature, in all its wisdom, is pushing us toward balance—whether we’re ready for it or not.

The Age of Aquarius is the time of the unexpected. While we may not know exactly what lies ahead, we’re on the edge of a revolution that will redefine not only how we live but how we understand ourselves in relation to the world around us.

As Pluto moves into Aquarius, we’re being called to step into the unknown, to embrace the discomfort of transformation, and to trust that on the other side of this upheaval lies a more equitable, connected, and sustainable world.

The question is, are we ready?
